I have a 29 laying around and want to try to start breeding, i know that guppies and other live bearers are easy, as well as, so i figured i would try them convict. I would just like some opinion on what i should do filter wise, i was thinking something like a AQ30, or a power filter along those lines. Any help i can get would be great thanks.

a cheap easy filter for a breeder would be an aqua clear in my opinion. whatever size thats recommended for a 29 would be just fine. Breeders tanks are cheap tanks (especially for gups)

most people will recomend using sponge filters.. its safer for the fry..

i use an aquaclear, and when the fry become free swimming and start venturing off i just put something over the intake tube.. and its worked so far

Thanks for the help, i have some sponge i can stick over the intake so i think ill do that.

WHEN I PLAN ON USING POWER FILTERS WHEN BREEDING, I CUT A FISH NET AND RUBBER BAND IT OVER THE INTAKE. THIS WORKS FOR ME. BUT I HAVE HAD SUCCESS USING SPONGE IN THE PAST
