I am heading to new hampshire in august and would like to fish for smallmouth and maybe largemouth bass, where I live we just have trout and salmon, so I have no experience with these fish.

So what should I use for them as far as lures, soft baits, and bait goes.
I always see on WFN they will use senkos and crankbaits or crayfish plastics
but I am fishing from shore so does this change?

thanks

A plastic worm hooked into the tip and a small split-shot jigged on the bottom works well also.

ive been catching a ton on Mepps comet size 2. Have also heard great things about mini brush hogs. Smallies are a blast to catch and even the small ones fight like hell.

any flies you recommend as I would really like to get one on the fly

for flies i would pick up some hard plastic poppers and some deer hair poppers if they are looking up at all and other than that i would pick up a variety of wooly buggers in tan, green/olive, black, and white. get some different sizes of buggers also. I've found that with bass a fast short strip or two or three followed by long pauses. good luck post some pics when you get back. if you have any other messages send me a pm.
