The land of the pine
My pickerel got beaten up by my redbreast really badly.( I removed the redbreast and put him in my pond where he was eaten by my bass.....). There is fuzzy stuff growing on his wounds. I want to put salt in but i don't have any and can't get any that you could put in an aquarium. All I have is Epsom salt which I've heard isn't helpful for wounds, and I have colonial salt which I don't know if is safe to put in.

Morton Colonial Non-Iodized kosher salt can be used, dosed at 1 tbls per 5 gallons of water. API Fungus Cure or a simalar product is another option. Keep the water very clean and do a large 50% or more water change before starting treatment.

thats what i have. Thank you. Im doing daily 40% water changes.

Standard rock salt can be used - must not contain iodine, but if the infection is really severe, you'll probably have to go with a fungus-specific medication and keep your water quality pristine. Hope he pulls through
