Mornin'! I'm new to the group, so "Hi!!"
I have a 94.5" long, 14" wide tank that I need to build (or buy if cheap enough) a DIY stand for.
It is a tank set from a Wal-mart display and it is frigging weird. I have seen several tank stands before and yet, none like this. I also need to make an inexpensive, but nice lid. The goal is to have this as my breeding tank.
Can anyone help me get going on this, ASAP?
I have refurbished, redesigned (paint- I'm an artist) but never built one. I'm handy, though, so think I can do this pretty easily.
:help2:

For the stand, just build it out of 2x4's and skin it with the wood of your choice.

For lids, you can go to your local glass shop and have them make you some lids fairly cheap.

yeah thats what im going to do because i just bought my 90 gal and the guy didnt give me anything to cover the lights

Here's the design you'll want to copy.

Pharoah, That is cool! Does the tank sit down onto the green ones/ do they bear any of the tank weight? Or set plywood or something over the top?
Cool beans, that simplifies it, besides knowing how many supports to put in the middle. I'm guessing every two feet, correct?

PS
Thanks, everybody, for your tips!! You so rock.

+1

I had glass tops cut for my old 300 for under 30 dollars at Alamance Glass Company. Find a local glass company and have the cut it for you.
