Just did tank cleaning.
There wasn't enough water in the filter and was running for like 10 sec.
I unplugged it and plugged it back in again in hopes that it would help the siphon.
Then when I got it full again, I plugged it back in and it wouldn't start.
I let it set for a couple min. and it still won't start.
How long should I leave it unplugged or do I need it plugged in for the computer to restart itself?
Please tell me it's not burnt out.

Get a long philips head screw driver and unscrew the four screws on the motor housing. Pull out the black plastic propoller, clean out the propeller and magnetic housing, replace the propeller, plug it in for a quick sec to make sure it works, screw the motor housing back to the canister and presto!

Did that 2 weeks ago and it wasn't that dirty.
Could something still be stuck in there in that short amount of time?

yup. Thats why i really like the fluvals. Not saying they are the best filters but they are to me because they are always fixable. I basically have a phd in fluval repair hahah anyone can thats why i love em

Well since you consider yourself an expert,
please Dr. Fluval, can you tell me why I get micro bubbles even right after I clean the filter?
Besides the sponges, the only thing I have in the center of the baskets are nylon bags filled with LARGE chunks of crushed Coral.

It's just an air pocket working itself out of the filter... Sometimes you can get air bubbles in the sponges that will cause this effect. Also the little hose that is connected to the bottom of the Lid that is part of the priming system (connects to the output path), if that has popped out of place, I believe that it can cause this as well. Some have climed that it can be from a filter that needs to be serviced...

Shutting the filter off and tipping the can from the output side to the input side can help to allow the bubbles to escape. I do know that when I service my FX5's (like I did today) they will spit bubbles for the first few hours off and on...
