I have a 120 gallon tank with angels, geos, tetras and a couple small plecos. I recently added the 2-1/2 inch geos to the tank. I did not quarantine them as I do not have a spare tank. It has been about 2 weeks and I really have not seen them eat. They seem interested but will not eat. Now one of my angels has stopped eating. I did notice a bit of white, stringy poo from the angel but haven't noticed any poop from the geos. All of my fish show no visible signs of anything and are acting normal. The geos are still very active and are busy sifting sand but when I feed they do not eat. I am thinking it is an internal parasite. What would be a good treatment for them. I will have to treat my whole tank since I do not have a spare tank.

Tank specs:

Temp: 82 degrees F
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20 ppm
pH: 6.8

Food: NLS cichlid pellets and Ken's flake food

I have some Seachem Paraguard but do not know if that is what I should do.

Any advice greatly appreciated!1480567236861-21853461.jpg

You may be correct on your analysis in internal parasites especially that you have had your Angel already prior to adding the new Geo's and the Angel stopped eating and the stringy white poo. I personally would treat with parasitic medication what most members recommend. Until someone else chimes in go to the forum for medicine and disease on the site to find out what most recommend.

I would treat the entire tank with prazi pro. It doesn't hurt anything, stain anything or disrupt your bacterial colony/tank cycle. I always keep a bottle handy. None of the local shops in the Vancouver area have it but Wet Spot carries it. Paraguard may be just as effective but I don't have any experience with it since prazi is my go to if I am concerned about internal parasites.
