ive got this big root type decoration i got at petsmart and my new BGK and oscar went in it. i need to take it out of the tank to clean the tank but they wont come out. i have no idea how i could make them come out. any ideas?

i already fed but they wouldnt come out lol. and i def dont want to ruin the ornament. it was expensive and the fish love it

I have the same thing, and I have about 20 clown loaches that cram themselves into this. They will all come out, but like 3 or 4 of them... I take the hood/lights off the tank, and shake it in the water, and if that doesn't help, I take it out of the water, and shake it a bit... They eventually come out.

But I don't know what you can do for an Oscar..

Remove it when they are out next and fill the voids with silicone if you don't want them going in it at all. Otherwise just shaking it over the tank is about the only way...

I had the same problem...my featherfin cat somehow managed to get himself in one of my ornaments...no clue how as the hole was so small. I shook the ornament in the water until he came out & removed it permanently.

You should be able to gently shake them out. Once you start lifting the wood out of the water, they will come out. My clowns like to hike deep in a root. Only once I had to get a butter knife to break away a little wood to be able to pry it open a little to jiggle him out.

A little shaking should get them out as said. I've seen fish get literally stuck but it's usually cats/plecos.
