in my dads tank he has a cichlid that seems to have gotten in a fight with our puffer fish, and now half of his lip seems to be falling off (ripped half way off almost)
WHAT SHOULD I DOOOOOOOOO??????
PLEASE HELP.....

Not much. I would personally put him in a q-tank. Put melafix in it. Lots of aeration. It may heal, but it likely will never be back to normal.

Add some salt in the quarantine tank.

Puffers could be really dangerous 'cuase their particular teeths.

we actually added salt to the tank for ich treatment, last night, after we noticed the ich, and the lip.

is there anything else i should do for his lip?
should i just let it be?????
or cut it off???

PLEASE Give me some advice?!!??!

THANKS!

just let it be. The fish will have to heal on it's own, or die. Quarantine tank, 82-86F water, a little salt, melafix, pimafix, and keep that water PRISTINE. Keep the fish in the dark as well. That is the best you can do. Good luck

Quoting this for truth, let the 'skin' either reattach itself or die and fall off, and keep the water quality as best possible with the aforementioned treatments.

If he/she is still taking food currently I'd say you're fine. It will leave a scar, or at least a mark for a very long time though unfortunately, but surviving is the most important thing.

iam in the same boat, my 2 oscars got beat real bad about 4days ago,,,her lip was hanging by a thread and also large chunks of skin<she laid constant on floor til last night now shes eating again and skins falling of<rather like scabs with new underneath,,,all i do is make sure i do 100 litre water changes nightly to keep water good and clean,,,

good luck, just remember you cant go far wrong with some good w/c w/c w/c w/c.............waterchanges,,,,,,,,,,my girls swimming around today normally and gulping down the pellets with half a gob
