i have an option between water to use for WC's at my house.. now, i have soft water(as in softener salt added) and hard water, which comes from an outside faucet with water being hardest of the hard, rust included. i need some recommendations for which i should use for WC's, or if i should do some water prep before i add any to my tanks.

I have a water softner in my house as well. I use the softned water in my tanks. I have 5 Balas, 13 Clown Loaches, 2 fancy Plecos and 1 common Pleco. I've had some of the fish over 4 yrs.
I guess it depends how sensitive the fish are that you keep. For me, more water softner works well.

well thats good because i have been using the softened for my oscars, hopefully im not killing them..
