OK Guys, I am putting this thread up as a call for help. As most of you know, Ted (Anythingfish) built a 8000G to house his monsters as well as take in orphaned fish. But he has had so many Pacus come in the past few months that he simply can't keep up with them. Ted now has about 30 Pacus in there ranging from 20-30" now.Ted has stopped taking Pacus in as he gets request to bring pacus over on a daily basis. Ted tries to do the hobby and the environment a favor by stopping owners from releasing the fish into the wild but he simply can't keep up with them anymore and now we need to move some of them out to new homes.

Ted didn't approve me posting this up but I know we need to do something. So, I am trying to find people (preferaly public aquariums) that want some pacus for their display tanks. Fish range from 20"-30" and are FREE!. Have about 15-20 of them to move out. Take one or all. You just need to pay shipping. We are only moving Pacus out, nothing else.

Shipping these fish CANNOT be done in the conventional way using styro boxes and bags. These fish are simply too big. So they would need to be shipped in Fish totes. You must provide the tote. The Georgaia Aquarium had a tote shipped up to Ted for fish before and it worked out well.

So again this is a plea for help. So if anyone knows of any public aquariums looking for exibit size pacus, please send them our way.

Thanks

Sorry I can't help. That 6 foot black bin is a great way to move big fish though. We have several just like that. We use totes for moving cold water stuff alot two, but we only have two of them.

Well, I guess there's only so much one person can do. Kudos to Ted for doing all that he has done so far...not many people are willing or able to take on such a huge requirement.

I know HotFishGirls is associated with the Boston Aquarium Society that meets in the New England Aquarium...I would check with them and see if they know anybody on the inside.

hey perfect size for a good meal

i know your not interested in eating them...but why not?
