Buenos aires tetras (Hyphessobrycon anisitsi) are omnivores and notorious plant eaters.

BTW, it would be best to get additional BA tetras to form a shoal or get rid of one of the 2. As pairs, they're too combattive with each other.

aggghhhhhh!!!!!
i even took the buenos aires tetras out of the tank and its happening agin.:swear:

Gouramies will graze on hair algae if it's growing on the plants. Pictus cats have been known to nibble on plants. But, usually, you'll also find bits of the plant scattered around the tank. Algae eater won't usually harm plants unless they're not getting enough algae in their diet. Providing algae wafers will curb them from grazing on plants.
I've never heard of your other fish to be plant eaters.

I have my money on the Siamese algae eaters...

If not, then one of the fish tore the plants apart, and your scavengers (pictus, weather loach and catfish) picked up the pieces.

By the way, weather loaches do so much better in cool water, not tropical. Although they can survive, it is far from ideal.

how big are the bulbs. All of those fish don't really get large enough to eat bulbs. I do have gouramis that are voracious plant eaters though but none have eaten any of the bulbs and my siamese algae eater doesn't have the right mouth to eat a bulb.

:shocked:Thats a huge surprise to me. You actually saw him eating the bulbs or was he ripping them apart to get to some little worm or something living inside of the bulbs?

actually i've heard of a dojo eating a bulb before. maybe he thought it was sinking food or something.
