ammonia 0; nitrite 0; nitrate 0-5ppm; ph7.8
i have a jack dempsy in a 55g that is almost constantly trying to scratch himself, the only time he seems to forget is when its time to eat..i rescued him from my lil bros 10g but is already stunted (5 1/2" and 2 1/2yrs old)..whats causing this and how to treat please?

Boost the temp to 85-86F and add a little salt (teaspoon/gal). Sounds like he may be contracting a fungal infection. Probably due to losing some slime when he was switching tanks. Adding a slime booster/rejuvinator will also help.
