I adopted a 12in Tiger Oscar who has definite Hole In the Head disease, I have tried to do some research on this and have come up with numerous different answers. So I still feel in the dark. I figured I better come to the experts. Does anyone have any experience in this, He/She lol needs help do not want to lose this fish after rescue.

Thanks for any advice you might send:)

What size tank is it in?
The best thing to do is test your water. Ideally you want Nitrates below 10 ppm, also testing your tap water will give you a good idea where you stand in this regard. 50% weekly water changes are a must, vacuuming the gravel to keep the substrate clean and removal of all uneaten food, a regular filter maintenance schedule to prevent too much waste from building up in the media, along with a good diet consisting of a high quality pellet as the staple such as NLS. The addition of a vitamin block to the tank will also be helpful. Keep the temp around 80, keep the tank clean and the water fresh. If you have to go the medication route the Metro is the one to use. In most cases a clean healthy environment will do it. Good luck with your Oscar.

Exactly! Check the other links posted by MissLaura too. I hope you can bring the O back to health.

I have him in a 90 gal, and do a 50% change once a week, I have a 2nd oscar in there right now, and have had the healthy one for several months is HITH contagious to the other oscar?? I can always up my water changes and will need to check the nitrates and such

And TY for all of the help I will keep you all posted on how he/she is doing. Its bad but not as bad as some photos of others I have seen

If it's housed with another O you might want to treat with metronidazole. Just follow the instructions on the meds.

I'd like to add onto what Aquanero posted. If you have gravel, I suggest removing it if you're keeping Oscars. No matter how much you gravel vac, there is still going to be a lot of leftover waste/debris in the substrate. I've found that keeping bare bottom tanks with Oscars keeps the water a lot cleaner since you can siphon out all the waste that collects on the bottom. HTH's.
