I just went down to the beach and found this nice peice of driftwood for my 200g and need to know wat to do to prepare it to put in the tank, right now i am soaking it in freshwater. Help me out here, never had driftwood in my tank before.

First soak in boiling water to kill any parasites or in different types of wood you need to get the tannins to leach out so it doest stain your tank water. After some boiling water just soak until it sinks(some may take weeks/months to do so),you may have to silicone a rock or other DIY to keep it at the bottom..

:iagree: it takes quite a while for the leeching process to be complete, some drift wood never sink also.
