Hi Everyone.
I have a large tank which I am going to run two cannisters on. I have already purchased the cannister filters and realised that the cannisters have no priming system incorporated into them. The instruction manual states that to prime the cannister filter i need to suck on the hose that pumps water into the tank.
Is there any way to rig up some kind of pump or plumbing that I can use to auto prime the cannister? I dont have the facilites to drill holes into the tank.
Is it possible to rig up some kind of T valuve int one of the lines and using my house tap pump fresh water into the lines?
All the plumbing is going to be concealed int oa wall cavity so I dont want to have to be taking naything appart to suck on the lines or anything like that
I really appreciate anyones help.
Cheers

My jebo had a primer on it but it hasn't worked properly since I got the damn thing. But I normaly will just fill the canister then open the valves. I would say you can try doing that but once the canister pumps the water out and starts the siphon process you can turn it off disconnect the outlet hose and let it fill till you can see/ hear it fill all the way up then reconnect the hose and let it run.

A T with a couple of valves and one side going to your house plumbing should do the job nicely! You will probably want to add a check valve between the house plumbing and aquarium plumbing for sanitary purposes. Your house hold water supply should have plenty of pressure for priming the filters. I don't see any reason to mess with a extra pump.

You should probably add some sort of plumbing to your house hold sewer line too... Wala!... painless water changes!
