Help! I cracked my discus tank!

I was being stupid earlier and dropped my hood on the top corner of my glass 75 gallon discus tank! It is not leaking but I am worried... what should I do?? Any advice helps, thanks

The glass is cracked/chipped and the plastic on the top is also a little cracked

hmmm not great, id get some aqaurium silicone apply on the outside around that area, then replace it (the tank) once you can afford it If it wasnt a display tank (or in such an obvious position) i'd liberally silicone inside and out and once cured contuniue to use the tank (more carfully next time)

If possible i would lower the water level a inch or half an inch below the crack to be safe, and silicon the inside and outside. GL

Okay I will buy some silicone tomorrow and do that asap... Is there a chance that the whole tank will break or is there just a chance of it leaking? I dont want 75 gallons of water + $100's of fish on the floor!

that doesnt look to bad i think yourll be ok with some silicone, at worse i see it leaking\

the fracture is high up, your lucky it didnt fracture in the middle. just keep an eye out. make sure it doesnt fall apart.

yikes, good luck with the repair, how heavy is your hood?

The hood is about 50lbs, the whole weight didnt fall on it, but I didnt catch it quite in time
