Help I.D. flowerhorn with (short body?)

So I was at my girlfriend's house and I stumbled upon her dad's tank with a single flowerhorn in it. He told me it's his prized fish but it looked awfully small. Can anyone please help me identify what kind of FH this is? Sorry the pics are blurry due to my phone quality.

Kind of looks stunted. Tank size/parameters?

It's in a 40 gallon for all I know. This is his tank so idk the parameters, doubt he even knows

Yeah 40 gallons is to small. If he doesn't know his parameters I'm assuming he isn't a hobbyist and just got it because it was cool. The first pic makes me think this fish is stunted. I could be wrong, just my opinion. It doesn't look all that healthy though.
