An island somewhere......
This is pretty pathetic that I'm on the computer posting this right now..... but I'm on my Honeymoon and stumbled across some cichlids in a Koi Pond/Stream at the Sheraton Resort that we are staying at. Before I tell you guys what the hotel landscaper/maintanence guy said they were I'd like to bounce it off the forum. What do you guys think?

your on your honey moon and on mfk???:screwy: you should be getting :naughty: not talking with us

It's hard to be certain especially from that angle, as O. aureus would be a good guess but the head of O. aureus should not be quite so blunt as one would see on T. rendalli. T. rendalli also has the wider shorter mouth/snout while O. aureus would be just a bit more narrow and pointed.
I also considered the presence of the fish's youngsters. Makes sense to find young around the substrate spawning T. rendalli whereas O. aureus are mouthbrooding fish and the young tend to stay away from adults who might consider them food.
