I purchased a 7" RTC at a lfs a week ago. It seamed to be in good health other than a little gill curl. About 2 days ago I noticed that he seamed to be breathing rapidly and swimming erratically on occasion. My ph is right around 7 with ammonia and nitrates at 0. I hate to see this fish die does anyone have any experiences or advice for my situation.

Sounds like either ammonia poisoning or low o2. not a lot to go by but those are my guesses. how do u have no nitrate? is this a new setup?
Its a new Tank and DIY sump but all the media is from my old filter that was only shut off for 30 minutes during the swap. The tank has been running for a 5 weeks and my jag and pleco have been in there with no problems at all for 3 weeks.
