Ok I have never had ick before what is the best way to treat it? I already started to raise the water temp.

I'd say add a teaspoon of normal salt per gallon or half a teaspoon per gallon if any of the fish in the tank don't have scales. Keep up with water changes.

It is a cichlid tank and normal salt? Like table salt?

Others have used salt to kill ich when their clown loaches had it but given that I am not comfortable yet giving a number of how much salt to use with clown loaches in the tank I am going to draw the attention of someone who likely can give a firm answer.

This man should be able to give you a better answer than I.

Clown loaches are sensitive. It’s hit or miss for cl’s. Some do well with salt and others dont. But assume all fish are exposed and need to be treated. It’s about 3tsp per g total. Keep the temp at 86. Keep like this for 2-3 weeks. Atleast a week after the last spot has gone. Would add up all the salt and divide into portions. 1/3’s and add to the tank in 24hrs. After adding each portion check and see how the fish are doing. Keep a powerhead. If u change out 50% water then add back the salt. So 100g tank and 50% water changes. Add salt for the 50g u removed. Keep gravel vacuuming etc.

Thank you very much I just want to make sure That the temperature is supposed to be 86 I was going to shoot for 88 89 Because I read some of the ich parasites are resistant to the lower temperature. There are only a few fish such showing signs should I try and catch then and do a dip in some medication. And still treat the whole tank
