I have no idea what happened! When I went to sleep, he was there in my 20 gallon. When I woke up, he was gone!! I looked everywhere. I checked all over my house thinking maybe he escaped and died. I checked in the substrate and couldn't find him in there. He never burrowed in there before because it's pretty rocky and he tried but couldn't get in.

What the hell is going on! Where is this guy?

You know how they say you swallow a certain number of spiders in your sleep every year? Well, something similar to that probably happened...

well now im creeped out i cant find my snow flake eel either who is going around jackin eels damn it

check your filter man, they like to hide in there

I thought I'd lost my peacock a few months ago, but he was just well hidden in the substrate. I ran around frantically looking for like an hour, then I just thought maybe he slithered out and the cat ate him. A few hours later I went to feed and there he was awaiting his blood worms as usual.

Good to hear man. giving him a softer substrate like sand to burrow in and plenty of hiding spots may prevent it from happening again but I would suggest covering the opening somehow also. I cut up an old fish net a taped it onto my hood for a fire eel that I had that did the same thing.

if theres heaps of hiding places they will not burrow :( i want to see it borrow like my first one did, but this new ones too fat and happy to borrow :(
