i got to convicts hoping they would breed. when i put them in the female, yes the female started bullying the male. is this normal when trying to breed them. also what is the best food to feed them

What size tank are they in? Yes, its normal to have convicts or any fish bully another. Not all males and females will automatically like eachother. But over time they may pair up. Feed them cichlid pellets, you can try frozen worms etc. Maybe even a guppy.

double posting and bumpimg after only 12 minutes. you must really be desperate:screwy:

yep, covicts bully. Mine did, they took it in turns. Did you buy them as a breeding pair, or did you just pick 2 that looked nice? If they didnt choose each other it may take longer to settle or maybe not at all?
Move ornaments around, have a good 2-3 flowerpots in there, turn the lights off and keep them covered with a blanket for a couple of days... worked for me.
