i netted him and had him out of the water for no more than 1.5 minutes TOPS... i gently held him so i could take worms out of his butt, however i couldnt pull them all out. i wasn't applying any pressure at all to his organs as he was just resting between the groves in my hand and when i placed him back in the water hes now trying to swim down to keep from floating up!!

WTF... i tried holding him down in the water and facing his head upwards to try and let air bubbles escape his body (if thats how it even works/ how its happening) and no bubbles left him except when he was swimming on his own one little bubble left his gill but he was facing normal direction (facing down slantwise... hes a glassheadstander)

how the hell could this happen when not one instance have i known a fish to die just from taking it out of water for a small amount of time without any physicall trama????? (like arowanas hitting tops too hard as they exit the tank)

what should i do??

I have never had a fish survive from this, except from when I watched someone save a koi by taking a small needle and poking its air bladder

swim bladder disorder, none can survive... but what i mean is i have never had this happen as a result of simply removing the fish for a short amount of time. nor do i think any1 else has. otherwise it would be impossible to get the fish in the first place. so why did it happen now????

usual reasons for fish getting this disorder: improper acclimation, floating foods (curable), injury to swim bladder via stabbing (like vampire tetra bite).

but this is just....

well... heres the end result.

and the very same day i suffered another loss because i left my exo tank lid off =(.

i left them on the tank cover to dry out and in about a day they came out really nice looking for display... but... =(

yah... a waste of a 25 dollar fish. and an 8 dollar fish as well.

You had it out of the water for a minute and a half?... I had to remove a cloth fiber from a Mosquitofish's mouth once... I held him in the water to do it...

yeah, you cant really take a tweezer to its ass while its still in the water.

i lost another charax about a month ago as well, it was fine in the morning and when i came home it was mutilated and wrapped around the filter intake.
