My stingray is hidding 24-7 unless theres food in there. There are no other rays and none of the other tank mates are picking on him? He is in a 60. he is 8.5" nose to tail and the tank is 12" wide. Im getting a 300 gallon rubbermaid so if size is a prblm i might get one of those sooner. If not wat is the prblm PLESE PLESE HELP! thanks

Check water parameters...whit that size tank that could be the problem How long have you had it? Retic..Right?

If you haven't had him long it takes a while for them to become active and show themselves a lot.

How intense is your light? How long has he been hiding? What are the other tank mates? Just trying to get more info.
My lighting is just the light that comes with the tank the 40W florecent i think, The other tank mates are angle fish and discus, and hes been hidding for about a week but the past few days he been hidding whenever there is not any food in the tank

I agree with the last post, as long as its eating, should be fine. My retic was hiding when I bought her and hid alot until recently. She has become a pig and is always searching for food now. Just make sure you don't overfeed them for them to come out more like I did.

rays are more active at night so keep that in mind.... as long as it is eating I wouldn't worry....

ya i no hes active when its pitch black (when i get up at nite). and yes he is eating so ill just keep an eye on him
