My male and female jag have started swimming together, I suspect that they are finally breeding like I wanted. Well every time im near the tank the female gets scared and hides. Will they ever breed if I keep scaring her? She's still only 5in and new to the tank, but is there anyway to make her less skittish?
Help!? I think im distracting my fish from breeding.

how new to the tank? what size tank? any other tankmates? she might just need more time to settle.you could try adding target-dither fish.
Shes about a week new, to a 75 gallon tank, yes I know too small for jags but they will be moving to bigger tank.
She is still getting use to the tank. Give her several weeks to settle in. She won't be scared of you once she realizes you intend her no harm and instead are the one responsible for the food that falls from the sky.
