okay well yesterday i threw in about 85-100 live feeder guppies and well they ate. and just today one of my scombs i think engorged him/herself to death. But now one of my bass is sulking down at the gravel of the tank deep breaths and hes very pale and shiny yellow. i have multiple aerators going through the tank. and have coverd it completely so it is dark. (my first guess was that is was velvet.) i havent yet taken any medical action into the tank but help me guys i dont want him to die.

and this has happend once before when i fed them like this 2months ago.

help!!!!:nilly::cry::(:nilly::nilly:

IMO, that's not a good way to feed them. One because the feeders are not safe unless quarantined and two because the fish don't associate you with food when you just throw a bunch in like that and it will make it very hard to convert to pellets (if desired). If the fish has had the same symptoms before and been okay I don't think it's Velvet but, who knows. pic would help. Hope all goes well.

you can see velvet on there skin.. if it looks like velvet first check your ammonia first before dosing... you may have bad water parameters.. if everything comes back good.. do a water change and then dose your tank for velvet before you lose them!
