Okay.. its been a few days since my FH's color has gotten darker and faded... he looks very weak, in addition to that he's not swimming around proud with full of energy like he used to. Now he just sits in the bottom corner of the tank and stays there for a real long time... im really worried about him now... :( He's the only one in the tank that became like that... all the other fishes seem normal.
I've had this happen to one of my fh before and just thought he would eventually get better on his own, cause there wasn't any visible disease marks or open wounds that let me know whats wrong, but.. unfortunetly he did not get better... :( So now i want to be able to save this one.
I've been feeding him pellets, mealworms, krill and market shrimp ONLY! The temp is at 86-87
Can someone please tell me what to do to get him back to normal and swimming like a Champ!!

i know how it is bro i hope u can save him and whip him back in shape is his hump sunk in if so its the same as my fish and u have to treat with metronitazole ill look around and see if there are any sites for u o research a lil on ur own

Thanks KABB44423! Where can i find this metronitazole? Do i have to put him in a hospital tank when treating? or can i just treat the community tank? I've never used this before.

is your fish having any hole on his head or is it pooping something like cotton balls if not then don't start medication just like that
the hump gets sunk because of stress and not just only because of hexamita
and by the kind of diet you are feeding i don't think hexamita could be your problem
can you post a few pics so as to help us know what actually might be happening

I am having the same problem, but my water is usually 78. Does it need to be warmer? PM me if u can help...I just transferred him along with a few others.

I would try and post some pictures, and have your water tested. Definatly keep an eye out for white poo, that more than likely means hex. Metrodinazol is also called INZ and you should be able to find it at your LFS. I got mine from this guy on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Metronidazole-250mg-100-Fish-Zole-LOWER-PRICE_W0QQitemZ220293287545QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220293287545&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
This is great meds to have on hand just in case. That is cheapest you will find it. Probly 75% cheaper than LFS. I would make sure the fish is sick before you start treatment though. If you do treat and your fish is eating, try to disolve the metro in some water (it's not water soluable) and then soak some pellet, or even better freeze dried krill. The krill is like a sponge and will suck the metro up. Then feed it to your fish and it will heal faster. Treat the water also.
