He's on the bottom of the tank, he's turned a dark color, looks like he's panting? I did a 20% water change and he's still doing this? what could it be??

ph is 7, Ammo 0, NO2 <0.3 mg/l
the only thing that has changed is i added more salt, but it's not even enough to read on the hydrometer

they have turned light colors before, but i've never seen them act like this, and it's only one of the two

do you treat your water before putting it in?

yes, its treated with seachem prime

I always mix the salt in with new water before i add it to the tank

I thought puffers changed colors depending on their mood? I have 2 gsp, one has a bit of a dark belly and the other one is very light.
Did you over feed him maybe? I have been guilty of over feeding mine, they sat at the bottom, looked like they were panting and I thought they were dying. But they are fine now and I have learned my lesson lol.

I've seen mine change to a very light color, but never really dark like this...I dunno, hopefully he'll be better tomorrow...
