What kind of plants?
italian val, micro sword, african fern, rotala indica, and a giant hygro. i noticed the rams have ick on them. today i did about a 10% water change and added about a teaspoon more salt. i'm just scared to screw my plants up!

If it is possible take the plants out, wash them off and put them in a seperate tank for now. treat the tank for ich using the standard salt and heat method. After all signs of ich have been gone for a few days start doing water changes to get rid of the salt, then rinse the plants off again and replant in your tank. That should work since the plants should
not be able to host the parasites

eh.. i just don't know about that. i don't want to damage the plants in any way. i appreciate the advice, but if anyone has anything a little easier and less risky please let me know!

I would pull the plants and place them in a quarantine tank for at least 14 days at 80+ degrees without any fish, that will allow the ich spores on them to hatch and die. In the mean time treat the fish as stated in the sticky for ich

Increase temp to at least 82 deg, maybe higher. That will stop the ich cycle, but you may need salt too to save the fish. If you have to use salt, pull the plants. Better to risk damage than kill them all together.
