Help ID Fish Plz

[Sixfish]

I have had this fish for about a month now and don't know wat it is. The pet store sold it to me real cheap when i bought other fish. Plz help ID..
Also the eyes are red on the outside with a black round pupil.

the fins and the fact that they wanted to get rid of it makes me think its a tilapia species.
I suppose it could just be a generic hybrid of several different american cichlid but I would say tilapia.

maybe its even a native fish I know nothing about those, all I know is those fins are all wrong for a south/central american cichlid

Looks like a Tilapia to me, buy they all look so similar, can't tell the species.

Above is Oreochromis tanganikae
Below is T. niloticus

looks A LOT like the tangynikae that duanes posted. I've kept them before and they are great fish.
Do not be put off by the fact that the LFS wanted to get rid of him so fast, Tilapia make great pets and unless its striped black and white theyre mostly peaceful

I agree, looks tilapia. They do make great aquarium fish!
