HELP: ID Geophagus

Hey guys,
This is my first time posting on MFK forum but i have been lurking for quite a bit So anyways I bought 3 of these fish 4 months ago and they seem to be doing well. I bought them as unidentified geophagus sp. I have been wondering what they are for a while now. Here are the pics.

Geophagus proximus or pindare

Tail pattern is wrong for surimenisis ... missing the black cheek stripe for Proximus.

A better side should for full tail pattern would help.

All strains of proximus don't show the black cheek stripe consistently. Only dicrozoster and brachybranchus do in my experience.

See, that one doesn't look like proximus to me Jim, though it has a huge range and I haven't seen all the variants as of yet.
