thanks for all your help in advance.

#1 is a Blue Diamond.
#2 is a Turquoise.
#3 is a Melon.
#4 is a Turquoise.
#5 Not sure off the top of my head. A barred strain for sure, not pigeon.

I would say that #1 is a cobalt #2 & 4 are green snakeskins #3 could be a melon or a Marlboro red that hasn't reached her true color potential and #5 looks like a pigeon cross with a red. Judging from the pics everyone is in what we call "Discus pout" mode. They turn really dark when they are stressed making their colors hard to judge. The snakeskins and cobalt look close to show quality- anywhere between $100-$250 depending on size. I dont know the pricing of the arrowannas but yes, you got a great deal.

I totally disagree. Those fish are no where near show quality. It doesn't matter, but the Blue Diamond (what you call cobalt) is so stunted it's eye is almost as large as it's body. The Melon looks to have fungus or infection in and around the gill area, could possibly have gill flukes. #5 has no pigeon in it at all, you can see faint outline of the bars. Pigeon based fish have no bars, they have pepper, as shown on the melon #3. The others are not that bad. However, as long as the owner is happy, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. :)

There's no fungus its the reflection of the flash on the gill plate. I know what fungus and flukes look like. as far as the eyes being to large these guys are only about 2 to 4 inches so you can't really judge that to a full grown adult. They all have bars down the side of the body to except for the blue ones. I took the picture when the lights were just turned on. I agree that number 2 3 4 5 are no where near show quality but from what I have read the blue ones meet ever aspect the judges will be looking for minus there size. they are almost completely round. with nice red eyes and there blue does no fade through the body it is the same shade or tint of blue throughout. as far as them being stunted I really disagree. I got them from a friend that breeds them and they were in a 125Gallon tank and are now in my 125. They are 5 months old from what he told me and are about 3 inch so there growing pretty fast.

I could only go by what you could see in the pictures. Good luck to you. Keep the water clean, feed em well, and grow em out.

ya thats what I thought. There in with five stingrays right now so keeping the water clean is hard. but what do you think the smallest tank that I could keep a pair in. I have a few extra tanks.

I have mated pairs in 20 gal. tanks. However, 2 young fish that are not mated may pick on each other in a small tank. If you have a 40 gal. or so tank, I'd just put all of them in it, and keep it clean with water changes until they get bigger.
