help ID my friends arowana

what a trip i had during the winter games this year in canada
i had visted my buddy an he had a nice arowana, wow it looked crazy in person,well he wanted me to help him id or to clairfy what species
it was,he was told bluebase,redXback,also to me it look likes a spoonhead. it lost a couple of scales because he other arowanas broke the divider
butits healing well.wht u guys think???? thanks

To me it looks like a gold xback but because it was taken with a flash I can't really tell if it's a red or not as the tank is so brightly lit as well. If the damage is recent tell your friend a bit of methylene blue will prevent any fungus in the future .

It look like a low quality grade 1 red. But then again, it look like a hybrid of a red x gold.

yes that what he said bluebase redxback u cant see in the picture but man in real life itbase is crazy like blue pearls. thats all the picture i got sorry but thanks

i talk to him on the way to work today he said he friend told him
it from lake ocean aquarium in malaysia hybrid but very nice .
far from low quality

I think Koji may have meant it to be a low quality red because there is not much red pigmentation in the fins nor is the scale colour consistant throughout the fish.

it looks like a hybrid to me.. with some of the red genes...
