Ok so in my 75G Tanganyikan tank I have a bunch of white dots all over the rocks and glass, and more keep poping up daily. My only theory is that the nirite snails I have in the tank could be laying eggs but I've never heard of it happening in a freshwater tank. Anyone have any ideas?

i get those too. i have ONE nerite and 2 western mosquitoes...always guessed it was algae.
i think olive nerites...what you and me have...can only spawn in brack

Yep they are nerite eggs, problem is it won't hatch coz they need at least a brackish environment (i think)

Not all nerites are like that. A few species can breed in FW. Unfortunately the challenge is presented in the abundance of microalgae and phytoplanktons needed by the velligers (larva) before reaching snail stage. Not many made it to the snail stage. I'm still trying to find out what other species of nerites would be able to breed in FW aside from Vitta usnea and Theodoxus fluviatilis.

well since it is a tanganyikan tank i add a little marine salt, will that be enough for them to survive?

probably not as they need phytoplankton to eat to survive
:iagree:

well thats good cause now the whole tank is covered, soon as i stock it with fish they will hopefully get rid of them.
