Help ID new payara

Just picked up my first payara. Been looking for one for almost a year now. Not sure what species it is, lfs had it list as vampire tetra. What do you think it is?

Awesome Scomberoid Payara!

I had one for a few years awhile back he got to 10 inches awhile back! I feed frozen silver sides to him. I would have to use fishing rod and cast and reel back and forth for at least 10 minute but he striked all the time!

I wish stores would stop being lazy and label the fish as what it actually is instead of the catch all...saber tooth/vampire tetra.
