help ID please and a questions

It is around 4 inches , i just got him today.
The question is can i keep him with a clown loach? The clown loach is around a inch long.

That would be a Polypterus Endlicheri. As for the clown loach, it might be fine for some time, but the problem would be that the endli could grow much faster than the clown loach and begin to see it as food, and if it tries to eat it that could end in the death of both fish.

Thx for the info It should be safe for a week in the quarantine tank right? they are both currently in a quarantine tank because i just got em?

Nice Endli. I would actually try to put a divider in, just to be safe. A 4" Endli with 1" anything is risky.

Oh geez, I didn't read very carefully. Didn't realize that the fish was 4", looked smaller than that. Yeah, I'd agree with benzjamin on this one, that's pretty risky.

I had a 4-5" ornat that ate 4 1" loaches in one week.

So i'd also say put a divider in, or put the fish in different tanks.

Now im worried. It has not moved for 2 whole days. I know they can not eat for a long time but not move?
