Hi guys, I had a fish come into my store on my day off and need help id'ing it. I have posted pics and I also have one of my own that looks just like it except for black on the dorsal and more pearling, especially on the face. Thanks for the help.

What is yours supposed to be? I'm on a dim phone but yours looks to be a Jack Dempsey. As for the first one, it's hard to tell. If I could see the face alittle better maybe or maybe a person more knowledgeable than myself could have an answer for you.
The 1st pic appears to be one of the barred Amphilophus species, as to which one, they all look very similar so without provenience very hard to pin down.

Thanks guys, I was thinking either t-bar or hogaboom. As for the one that I have it came into my store as a JD, but I definitely know that's not true, as for as being a purebred.
One more thing, why a hogaboom and not a barred midas? As for mine (the second pic) I had someone say a red Texas that hasn't peeled.
Update everyone, I was looking through my Cichlids of Central America and found a fish that looks exactly like mine. It was called Cichlasoma cf. Pantostictus. It's now called Nosferatu pantostictus. The search is now over. Now can anyone tell me anything about them? I've had mine for a while and I can give a little advice, just hoping someone has more info.
