Looks to me like an attempt at a Red Texas. It is at the very least a Texas hybrid...let it grow and see how it turns out.

+1. Looks to Be blood parrot x Texas and looks like a SB tex.

There is a rash of pretend red texas every where now most are red devil x texas and parrot x texas which in a sence are really low quality rt

It bears some resemblance to a Texas cichlid. I also think it's a hybrid because the body is more stout.

Looks short body, or bp x tex x Dempsey. Looks like it could fade to SB red tex

Did you get it at Petsmart? I bought a "red texas" at petsmart and he looks just like this. Some turn out looking more like classic kamfa flowerhorn but yours and mine are looking more like unfading red texas. They're pretty fish! Just hard to say if they'll fade. Good luck with it!
