Carpintis looks like - not sure of any variant, so an expert would have to chime in.

Thank you for your quick response :)

Carpintis aye, i'll see what i can find out untill a "pro" can shed some light to this

Seems to have been a mislable, that or rather they are Texas cichlids . Either carpintis or cyanogutatus , I cant tell from the vid. I'd say your going to be in for some trouble if they spawn for you in that tank. I could be wrong but I believe one of them is female. Like I said if they do spawn you'll have your hands full with it, they are pretty nasty when they are spawning and guarding fry. They'll be more than capable of tearing up every fish in that tank.

Alright. What i could come up with it's a herychthis carpintis or commonly referred to as a green texas cichlid (which is false)
That is if my research is correct, which i am not sure of :)

Yeah, it is a male and female, and the firemouths are a pair aswell. There is a female GT and two male GT's in there aswell.. The salvini is male and single.

They are only together untill i get my other tank fixed. It got twisted during transport and is leaking.
But i guess as long as they are all juveniles there won't be too much trouble for a good while.

But does anyone have any idea why they aren't eating properly? or atleast, not finishing.
Do i overfeed them with feeding them once a day?
Or should i simply start using feeder fish instead for theire interest to grow?

If you just got them then they're probably still just settling in. Not uncommon for fish to not eat very when they are first introduced. Once they feel more comfortable (or hungry) they'll start eating more . As long as they are eating something I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just feed enough that all the food is consumed during the feeding with none left uneaten. I also wouldn't suggest feeders. They are notorious vectors for all manner of illnesses. They really aren't worth it.

how is the common name green texas false? Both texas cichlid species are commonly refered to as just that Texas cichlids . Carpintis is generally refered to as the green Texas where the other (cyanogutatus) goes by several names including Texas cichlid , Rio Grande Perch, Mojarra de la Norte , and a few others.

Ehm, yeah so my source is in danish :)

Whatever, i'll link it anyway in case you wanna try translate some of the words yourself :p

"den går ofte under salgsnavnet Texas Cichliden (Herichthys cyanoguttatus), men det er ikke samme cichlide som denne, selvom de ligner hinanden meget. Derfor kalder man carpintis for Green Texas cichlid."

What it says in rough english translation is:
"It's usually referred to in sales terms as the Texas Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatus), but it is not the same cichlid as this one, even though they look alike. That's why people call them the Green Texas Cichlid."

Wait, so yeah my bad.
Referring to it as a Texas cichlid is false, not green texas cichlid.

Sorry
