Lelupi cichlids, Afrcans, from lake Tanganyika. Hard water, not gonna do well with agressive species.

+1

These guys are great. One of my faves

Future rule of thumb, if it's a really bright little cichlid that has a pretty skinny body shape (read: bright orange, yellow, blue, etc), it's a good possibility it's African. Most CA/SA cichlids aren't that colorful when young, or ever--the super bright solid colors like the fish pictured don't really occur elsewhere. There are more obvious differences if you do more research, but that's a good basic to know.

ok sweet guys! thanks for the info. i've setup a 29 gallon for em,how long will the tank be alright for them? and if i come accross some more of these guys can i add? i baught the two for 10 dollars each, kinda pricey but their beautiful

Tang. cichlids are more pricey than other Africans, their harder to breed. They're also not as aggressive as "typical" Malawi Africans. They could live indefinitely in the 29, they don't grow very big. You could also add some other small Tang. cichlids.
