Help ID this guy

my first question is what was it purchased as?? looks like an amph of some sort. midevil more than likely

I'm sure they hope they can get a jewel. LFS mislabel cichlids (not all) and it could be something 'rare' as opposed to what it was originally labeled as.

People do this but I'd rather buy fish from a reputable LFS or breeder. That way I know what I am getting for sure.
The fish looks like a Midas, but is so small it is hard to tell.
