Not good! That looks like ulcers from a possible Aeromonas infection (do a google image search for aeromonas ulcer). Isolate that fish and treat for gram-negative bacterial infections. You must isolate him because your beneficial bacteria are also a type of gram-negative bacteria -- the antibiotic will kill your biofiltration. If you have had him for a while in that tank before those spots showed up, please improve the tank husbandry too while you are treating that pup!

Thanks heaps for the info mate, altho i must say ive never heard the term "tank husbandry"?? going out now to see wot i can purchase to help with the infection from LFS, do u know if salt and temps will help with this at all??

Husbandry in this case just refers to your habits when it comes to water changes, how you stock the tank, etc. I find that raising temperature does not really help with this sort of infection. Were you able to treat the tank and the fish? Any signs of improvement?
