I got this guy from an lfs a year ago, they called it a blood pleco, I haven't heard of this type before. Any ideas?

Can't really tell from that angle. Does it have a blue eye? Can you post a side view with the head in view?

Leporacanthicus triactis, described in datz as L091 and is commonly called the 'three beacon' pleco. Mine died not long ago, beautiful pleco, hardly saw it. Never heard it in reference to a blood pleco though.

Man my eyes are getting bad. I didn't even see the color of the first dorsal ray. Nice catch davo!

and tail and adipose ;) lol Yea the colour and patterning are slight on this one, but i also like the so called "dragons" and "tiger" fin varieties, where it is more than just the first spine on the fins. Still the one pictured has some nice vibrant colours, and quite a nice dark base too, how big is it?
