Help ID?

Yes, I realize he's low quality. However, he has an awesome personality.

Picked him up today at my specialty LFS. Obviously some type of hybrid. He's around 5" and appears to have a shorter/stockier build.

Here are my guesses. I could use some input from the hybrid experts on here. Thoughts?

BP x Trimac
BP x FH
Short Body Trimac
Short Body FH

Hes a red dragon short body variation Flowerhorn. He is considered low grade because he has no flowerline or no KOK (HUMP). The red eye is from trimac genes and are very aggressive like trimacs. The shortbody is most likely from parrot but can be from a bonsai FH.

You never know the genetics unless you know pedigree but RED EYES iS ZZ trait from trimac.

1. Could he potentially fade?
2. How big will he likely get? He's between 5-6" right now.

Fade. Possibly some show it late and a good possibility if mom was a BP.

See with short body gene some will get 8-9" males but depends really every fish even from same batch might be smaller or bigger. I would say the way he looks most likely 9-10" MAXED out.

Cool. Thanks, man. Hopefully his coloration improves when his stress levels go down. I keep my tanks very clean and use high quality pellets. I realize he'll never be a looker, but good tank conditions go a long way.
