Hello..

I purchased this albino beauty nearly 16 months ago.. at 6-7 inch and it's now nearly 18+ inches. It was told to be albino marble Lungfish, but I doubt the reference. Can any one help me in identify which protopterus is this ???

I guess .. it must be annectens bcz of dark patches and overall shape. I have successfully kept a annectens (West African lungfish) for 10 year and it is still surviving but stop growing or slow down it is at nearly 33 inch from many years..

Thanks in advance.

Attached photos for reference..

To me, looks like protopterus aethiopicus. I don't think I've ever seen albino annectens before (Probably rarer). Most common albino african lungfish are both from Congo: aethiopicus and dolloi.

Ok.. Thanks.

LFS did tell me right. I was just confused, because both my regular West African lungfish and this albino had nearly same trait and structure. While a friend of mine have true regular marble Lungfish i.e aethiopicus have different body shape and traits.

Thanks once again.
