Anyone ever heard of a (N.Celis) Cichlid. looks kinda like a salvini-or Dovii. I rescued him from a sure death in LFS hell

ill have to get a pic hes hiding really good. the name was scribbled on the tank with a marker..maby ill call and see if anyone there has a better spelling

Ahhh finally an owner arrives at the LFS.. My mystery fish was a (N.Loiselle) he believes its a Neetroplus. There were 3 different( N. fish) listed and with sloppy writing smeared from thousands of little kids fingering it up LOL..

Loiselli is what it probably what it is, just do a search and you could find pics on it. Check Jeff Rapps site and go to his Picture Gallery and theres a couple of pics(male and female)

From your description and the names given, I believe you found a Parachromis Loisellei. Nice fish, just picked one up myself. Just remember that not all LFS's have very good info. I've found that forums like MFK and others like it can be your best source of info. I have an LFS that labels polys as "bikers" instead of bichirs. Here's a pic of my Loisellei...

Excellent mine looks almost just like that but i think it has some problems from bad store conditions. Either its a shy fish or it has some illness, thus why i havent got a picture yet. It takes off when it sees me coming toward the tank and lays on its side in a corner of the tank.It eats but seems to sink down to the gravel every time it stops swimming. Could this be a swimbladder problem? Would something like this be treatable? The LFS seems to think its just adjusting to PH or the other fish..Its a really awesome looking fish when it swimms and etc.. sorry about all the questions,i just havent been able to get much info from LFS
