Hi - Could someone assist in Identifying a fish?

I found it in a runoff puddle with flowing water that has been persistent near my driveway (will dry up soon once hot). Put the fish in a tank and now need to determine food and car?

Thanks

Welcome aboard
Don't know exactly what type of sunfish that is but definitely be trained to eat pellets.

My guess is green sunfish. Just feed it cichlid pellets like hikari gold. I’d say a 40b would be the minimum tanks size and room temp should be fine

color is probably washed because its stressed. As said, definitely some sort of Panfish.

Northern bluegill, Lepomis macrochirus macrochirus, lack of patterning on the face + body and head shape narrows it down to either redear or one of the three bluegill subspecies, lack of red on the ear eliminates redear, dotted barring eliminates the other two bluegill subspecies

Wow, thanks and wondering how they end up in a puddle (something that will eventually dry out once the weather heats up, and the runoff source disappears)?

Water in it is of VERY low quality, and funny thing is I see many more of them in the puddle.
