We have photos of a fish skeleton from a lake in Texas. It is obviously an exotic species of fish and we think it may have been an aquarium release.

Does anyone recognize the fish based on these pictures of the skull and skeleton?

Goldie!

This is so traumatic! I only released her like two weeks ago!

Nah, I actually don't have any sure ideas on what it is. I am not good with local fish, but it might be a bass of some sort. There are many sites online with fish skeletons that may be of help to ID the fish. Here is one site http://www.helterskeletons.com/bones.htm

Largemouth Bass :)

Looks like a perch skeleton to me. I'm not aware of any cichlids that have spiny dorsal rays like this one.

I would say some type of perch - perhaps a Nile perch.

jaws look kinda like a cubera snapper... maybe somebody went deep sea fishing and just threw the carcass in the lake to mess with people

dovii is also a strong possibility
