Short story to get an understanding of why I don't know exactly what species I have here: So back around October-November 2016 I went on holiday for the weekend, I let my dad care for two precious brand new baby oscars. So when I get back, he has given me a present of a new lutino oscar, a flying fox, and a mystery cichlid because he ended up magically killing BOTH of my Oscars. Lovely. So, now that I've gotten a few days off again on sick leave, I thought I would post some pictures and see if anyone can help me identify this little cutie.

Definitely a Hemichromis. Its lacking the extra spot normally seen in guttatus, lifalili, letourmeuxi and cristatus, bimaculatus. It is an African Jewel or some sort. Your typical LFS would just call it a jewel cichlid.
