Very much south..
I know very little about CA Cichlids.

Got this guy today, awesome colours at my frineds, not famous ( yet ) in his new location.

I sense Trimac? Hybrid?

Any info is appreciated:)

Barred Midas x ??? got my vote. Might be crossed with a Mayan.... I don't know.
 
I put the same query on the hybrids forum, and was told it could be a TrimacXBarred Midas.....

The only reason I can't really say Trimac, is because there is no "pearls".
 
Your going to get a lot of guesses with no clear cut answers. Which is what you can expect without knowing the parents.
What I will say is Amphilophus hybrid. There are no distinctive traits that point to certain strain of Amphilophus. I see nothing that suggests Trimac and as far as barred midas, Well thats is purely a guess because many amphil. have bars, but nothing screams midas. Lysoni is possible. Also looks close to a beaky Sagittea, But I cant be sure.
